| 03.25.2003 Hey everyone! Things are progressing quite nicely on the bandmate front, as I have already found a new bassist with a hankerin' for chocolate, and am in the midst of trying out several guitarists and drummers to see who will be involved with LOC, Mach 6... official announcments and website updates forthcoming! In the meantime, we have already been busy with planning ahead for shows and so forth... you can expect a Chapel Hill gig in late May (tentatively, we are to perform on May 29th at "The Cave", pending bandmates of course)... and in even more exciting news, we are pleased to announce that we will be joing forces with the acclaimed Bubblemath to do a mini-tour of parts of the U.S. in late August... Plans include stops in Minneapolis, Chicago, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and Washington DC before we head back to North Carolina in time for ProgDay weekend... you can expect more announcements as tourdates and venues are finalized, but in the meantime, mark your calendars for the date-range of August 20th through August 29th, as we will hopefully be coming through your area to spread the musical cheer! If anyone in the area has suggestions or preferred venues that we should target, we are all ears... and of course, anyone offering a place to crash becomes our best friend as well! =) As always, we thank everyone for their love and support, and we look forward to embarking upon the next exciting chapter of LOC! Take care,

| 03.19.2003 Greetings everyone. It's been awhile since I've sent out an update regarding the band, and there is plenty to catch you up to date on with Land Of Chocolate... Recent events in my life have forced me to take stock in the future of Land of Chocolate, and after plenty of thought and soul-searching, I have made the decision to part ways with the rest of the band and pursue Land of Chocolate as a full-time entity by moving to North Carolina and finding new musicians who are able to commit the time and energy into pursuing this as a fulltime career... I have recently relocated to Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and am in the midst of seeking out new musicians who are capable of filling the enormous shoes left in the wake of the departure of John Jens, Brian O'Neill, and Sam Richardson... many more updates will be coming in the days and weeks ahead, as this search continues... In the meantime, John, Brian and Sam leave the band on amicable terms and I wish them all the best of luck... Sam has already joined up with the very talented and impressive Pilot Round The Sun, and has been out on tour with them quite a bit over the past couple of months... John is continuing his mastery of the Chapman Stick on his quest to free up more time for Tony Levin to spend time with his family... and speaking of family, Brian is preparing for the birth of his first child, which is due sometime in April... The four of us will still be meeting up to record our second album, which has been fully written and just needs to be tracked - we will make sure to keep you up to date as this project progresses... in the meantime, I expect Land Of Chocolate (version 6, if you can believe that!) to be put together before April, and for the band to be playing many shows immediately after the lineup is finalized... In other news, we have acquired the rights to landofchocolate.com, and have transferred the LOC website over to our new domain... Mike Ostrich has been appointed webmaster of the new site, and you can expect plenty of changes over the forthcoming months, so please make sure to head over to the website for all of the changes... special thanks go out to Matthew "Gerb" Schnoor, for hosting landofchocolate.net over the years... the help has been greatly appreciated! Anyway, please join me in wishing Brian, John and Sam the best of luck in their future endeavors... it has been an amazing ride over the past several years working with all of them, and I have been privileged to work with such a fine set of musicians... nonetheless, Land Of Chocolate shall continue, and I'm very excited about the future of this band, and the music that we will continue to create and perform... we hope that all of you will continue to support LOC as we move into a new era... Peace and love to all!
